False Flag in Syria: Action Only Hitler Could Admire! (Argumenty i Facty, Russia)

When it comes to the U.S. and Russian narratives on Syria, it appears that never shall the twain meet. Columnist Andrei Sidorchik of Russia’s Argumenty i Facty considers the Western case for action against the Assad regime not only factually false, but logically absurd, and the product of a foreign policy intent on only one thing: installing a more compliant tool in Damascus.

For Argumenty i Facty, Andrei Sidorchik writes in part:

This [chemical weapons] attack is obviously not advantageous to Assad, and is clearly beneficial to the opposition. The classic postulate of detectives is “look for who stands to benefit.” In this situation, any reasonable person would have to conclude that the Syrian opposition is under grave suspicion.

But in Western countries, the diplomatic corps is evidently not present in the reasonable people camp. It belongs to the executive camp, which is why it now publicly asserts that there is no doubt about the culpability of government forces, which supplies a pretext for military intervention.

The military forces of the United States and its satellite countries have begun to congregate along Syrian shores, ready to plunge the country into irreparable chaos, extirpate tens of thousands of civilians, and condemn the survivors to penury and lawlessness. That is, to lead Syrians down the “path of Libya.”

All of these damned lies, all of these innocent victims, are required to achieve a singular purpose – to alter an objectionable political regime. The motto, ascribed to the Jesuits, “the end justifies the means,” is today emblazoned on the flags of Western democrats.

After all of this, words about human rights passing through the lips of these politicians are as absurd as Adolf Hitler’s pronouncements on world peace after Poland was invaded in September 1939.

  1. The Hitlerian trope although always tempting to many when concerned, makes no progression in effective debate or resolution of the issue at hand. The actual situation is far FAR more complex> And the kind of deadly that no amount of blaming talk can trump. The sick rhizome keeps being sidetracked into ‘gas attack.’ It’s about the death of innocents. Death. Not gas. Not what the heads of Russia or the heads of the US or UK or whomever opines. It’s about en puente, the Death of innocents. Staying on THAT, will make for far better chance of a decent progression bit by bit. I’m sympathetic to the urge to take ‘sides.’ But the side I think ought be taken isnt Russian or United Statesian or British or Syrian. It’s instead, to side with the Innocents.

  2. Who has ever stopped a war because innocent people get killed? I assume innocent people are those who are not associated with your enemy. Some 100,000 people have been killed in this Syrian civil war while the US outrage is pointed at Justin Bieber for constantly taking his shirt off in public. Can you even contemplate what 100,000 dead people look like lined up in a row? So what’s our plan? Let’s kill a hundred or thousand more innocent people to show them it’s not right to kill innocent people your way. That will surely stop this horror. Listen up Syria, you either go back to killing thousands of innocents the normal way or so help us God we will bomb the .out of you!

  3. History has a habit of repeating itself. The memory of Stalin who murdered millions of his own people saying Hitler was a bad guy. Both should rot in hell, but please realize that denial was both of their greatest weapons. This author and others may believe: “What is also clear is that Assad would only be moved to do so in the event of utter desperation – if it became clear that he is doomed. However, as stated above, the situation attests to the opposite – and that the Syrian opposition alone has reason to despair.”
Never mind callousness and stupidity are current in the Assad line and that if the situation were reversed, Putin would bomb the shit out of whomever and not lose a moments sleep over collateral damage, you know innocents.
