“Brian Te’o tearfully defended his son to Couric, saying, “He’s not a liar. He’s a kid.””

    Idiocracy here we come!

The modern tendency toward apologism and/or disregard for low standards is allowing the country to slide downward bit by bit by bit. This incident is only one small example.

Shannon, the Idiocracy is already here.

It’s one thing to be an intelligence who seeks out interviews and allows the person to tell their story in depth, opening gates instead of fencing them in as Couric did.

It’s quite another to be ensconced in a position and have producers rounding up the latest “A” topics as they are called. United Statesians deserve much better minds to interview people.

T’eo’s story is not yet told. Not until the actual engine behind the story is exposed.

zephyr, I would agree with you if he were older, and I will change my mind if I find out he was in on the hoax. I have a 21 year old son, and he is still in the process of becoming an adult and gaining confidence and maturity. It’s too bad when he found out, he didn’t confide in someone like his father. I imagine he was mortified and an immature reaction would be to think if he ignored it, it would go away.
