Obama for America Accused of Corruption Over Foreign Campaign Donations

Here we go again…..First the right wing resurrected Jeremiah Wright and comments Obama made during a speech at Hampton University, which ultimately imploded in their faces — specifically Matt Drudge, Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson. Now they are back with another “bombshell” that the Obama campaign may have violated election laws by soliciting foreign donations via social media. Yawn. Where do the pro-Romney super PACs get their donations?

A new report obtained by Townhall from the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute [GAI] shows the Obama campaign has potentially violated federal election law by failing to prevent the use of fraudulent or foreign credit card transactions on the official Obama for America [OFA] donation webpage.

For the past eight months, GAI has been investigating the potential influence of foreign online campaign donations in House, Senate and presidential elections. The report was conducted using spidering software and found thousands of foreign sites linking to campaign donation pages. The investigation was conducted with the guidance of a former U.S. attorney. GAI is led by Peter Schweizer, who recently exposed congressional insider trading in his book Throw Them All Out.

“As FBI surveillance tapes have previously shown, foreign governments understand and are eager to exploit the weaknesses of American campaigns,” the report says. “This, combined with the Internet’s ability to disintermediate campaign contributions on a mass scale, as well as outmoded and lax Federal Election Commission rules, make U.S. elections vulnerable to foreign influence.” Source

By the way, Tucker Carlson is in on this bombshell too, so go figure. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Stay tuned. Developing…..

    Foreign contributors are smart enough to use US entities to contribute. This may be US citizens living overseas and using foreign credit cards. If so it is another effort that ends up pouring water on the sinking GOP boat. STUPID!!!

    Wasn’t Romney just in Israel at a fundraiser? I thought Israel was a foreign country, but to hear Romney speak US and Israel are one and the same.

    Not the bombshell that they hyped it to be, but certainly an example of Obama wielding the etch a sketch as effectively as Romney (or have we forgotten the faux outrage over the Chamber of Commerce foreign funding?)
