« It’s Official: Sarah Palin Won’t Run For President
Despite War on Terror Mistakes, Japan Needs U.S. More than Ever (Isen Shimbun, Japan) »
Apple has confirmed that Apple co-founder Steve Jobs has died at the age of 56.
Not entirely shocking news given his long illness, but he is now in a better place.
And he certainly changed this world before he left.
And here is a little humor I am sure he enjoyed
Rest in peace Mr. Jobs.
Thanks for the IPAD, I use it every day.
I got back from a walk to learn he’d died…
Using my iPod on the walk of course
A fine visionary, a great businessman, and a very honorable human being that continues to bring a daily dose of kid-wonder to my life.
Thank you Mr. Jobs, and find rest and peace.
Every generation has it’s icons. Jobs should certainly be one for ours.
an honorable man Steve Jobs, rest in peace. I cried out when I saw the headline on Reuters. We all knew he was so deeply ill and that he endured so much, was quite something. Pancreatic cancer, Patrick Swayze and others. It is a devastating disease. If there is one thing I know many of us want to see in our lifetimes it is not only cures for cancer but the eitiology of all the cancers. The google twins and mark z cannot hold a candle in any way to SJ. It is a real loss. And 56 is way way way too young to leave, no matter who it is.
I’ve a strong sense that Steve left many plans and strategies for Apple to follow for the next many years. We’ll see if Apple follows the spirit and ideas of this leader.
Fly on Steve
My students told me at the start of class – the news broke while I was riding my motorcycle in to campus. I told them that I didn’t want to talk about it because I didn’t want to cry in class.
I pulled together some posts on G+ ( http://gplus.to/kegill ) and I have a post from August about my favorite Apple/Steve Jobs YouTube clips. I may post something more thoughtful here on Thursday.
He changed the world. We will miss his vision, his passion, his drive…this is truly sad.
rest in peace Mr. Jobs. You left the world a much better place.
btw, I think it would be reasonable to take Palin’s face off of the TMV headline and replace it with Steve Jobs…like for the next week.
A guy quoted by The New York Times may have said it best: “He made the ugly world of computing beautiful.”
SL-
What…no Palin?
