While I have been reluctant to make too much of this story news is coming out this morning that he will resign from the House, hopefully allowing us to focus on real stuff.
Good riddance to, as one New York voice put it, the showboat and slimebag. (His behavior on the air and on the House floor alone is, or now was? enough to detest the man and be relieved if he is leaving.)
Now, what is MSNBC going to do to find a substitute for him?
MSNBC-and-Fox-flipping (CNN is fluffy lightweight liberal stuff!) is great. On one hand you have the flaming lefties forming what to most is an odd menagerie. Then with Fox you have less extremism but more shtick, at least the gimmicky graphics and sound effects (as I wrote many years ago about Fox’s sports programming) and (as with all sports now) loud-mouths*. (Which reminds us: What will MSNBC do to get a regular guest to replace the loudmouth Weiner?)
I was reading again today a book about the economics of food (that’s the title of the book, in fact), and in one place it showed a table of cereal consumption and ethanol production, then it gave the reader two interpretations, one pro-ethanol (defending it) and the other, anti-ethanol (attacking it as a problem with food supply).
* Not that MSNBC isn’t loud or noxious; it often can be both
He’ll be back.
pun intended

I must say flipping between MSNBC and Fox is bemusing.
MSNBC: Evil Republicans force Democrat out while Democrats are always tolerant of Republicans
Fox: Evil Democrat forced out by noble Republicans because the Democrats never punish their own.
It’s almost comic to watch
Dr. Jerkle and Mr. Hide.
