It goes without saying that the support for a deal depends on the deal being effective.
Support outpaces opposition across nearly all demographic and political groups, with liberals (seven in 10) and Democrats (two-thirds) the most supportive. At least six in 10 independents and moderates also back the broad idea of a deal with Iran.
Republicans are about evenly divided on an Iran deal, with 47 percent in support and 43 percent opposed. …WaPo
The Post suggests that the Netanyahu visit may not have been very popular. But the majority continue to believe Congress has and should continue to have final approval over any nuclear deal.
Nor is Obama seen as personally successful in his dealings with Iran. The beat, sustained by media on the right, goes on, but the public is less credulous.
