Missouri legislator files suit to be exempted from contraception mandate in state health plan

Another Republican politician decides to waste court time with a challenge to a facet to the ACA. This Missouri state representative involved wants to claim that unless he and his family are personally exempted from having to have coverage that would even allow for the possibility of contraceptives being covered it violates his First Amendment right to freedom of religion. He bases his objection to the fact that this coverage involves abortion inducing drugs that are “intrinsically evil”. So he’s not only wasting the government’s time and money in a lawsuit that is pretty much fated to fail but he’s another example of scientific illiteracy in action.
