Here he goes again. Donald Trump who in a month has become less famous for his comb-over than for whipping up the birther issue and suggesting that the country’s first African-American President got into college and headed the Harvard Law Review via affirmative action has again insisted he’s not racist. And he will raise eyebrows with his latest “defense” — which is certain to mean further damage to his brand:
TRUMP: Well, you know, when it comes to racism and racists, I am the least racist person there is. And I think most people who know me would tell you that. I am the least racist, I’ve had great relationships. In fact, Randal Pinkett won, as you know, on The Apprentice a little while ago, a couple of years ago. And Randall’s been outstanding in every way. So I am the least racist person.
This brings to mind a line from an old 1960s comedy album.
A Senator defending his views on race said: “I danced with my maid…”
