Caleb Moore, the son of Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, was arrested for drug possession on Sunday in Troy. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
According to court documents, Caleb Moore, 24, was arrested after officers responded to the 1200 block of Allen Street on an attempted home break-in call. He was with four other men. Officers found a bag of marijuana, several Xanax pills in the glove compartment of the truck.
Caleb Moore was released on $8500 bond and his first court appearance is set for April 7.
You will recall Chief Justice Moore is at the center of the same sex marriage fight in Alabama. He is not responsible for the actions of his adult son, but it opens him up to attacks from his critics. I should add, Caleb Moore has broken the law before.
Caleb Moore railed in a Facebook post: “This is nothing more than a prime example of how media and crooked police officers and critics of my dad try to not only destroy his career for what he stands for but will go as far as trying to destroy his family,” he wrote. “I am not a drug user as the drug test taken today will show. As for the malicious possession charges, justice will be served.”
Um, you can’t blame the cops for doing their jobs. I am sure they didn’t pick on him because of his father’s views or rulings. He should take responsibility for his actions and get some help. He sounds pretty remorseless and entitled in his Facebook post, which could come back to hurt him.
