GOP Credits Rosa Parks For ‘Ending Racism’
BY IGOR VOLSKY ON DECEMBER 1, 2013 AT 12:10 PM
ThinkProgress
The Republican National Committee celebrated the 58th anniversary of Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama, by proclaiming in a tweet that racism has ended:
Racism, of course, hasn’t ended and may have actually increased since the election of President Obama in 2008.
[…]
Following the re-election of Obama in 2012, Colin Powell publicly condemned the GOP’s “dark vein of intolerance” and the party’s repeated use of racial code words to oppose the president and rally white conservative voters. Without mentioning names, Powell singled out former Mitt Romney surrogate and New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu for calling Obama “lazy” and Sarah Palin, who, Powell charged, used slavery-era terms to describe Obama….
Awww. The Grand Party of Secession and Trampling everything the Republican Party was Founded to Oppose loves them their tokens and their implicit notion that if ONE member of any minority they’ve oppressed systematically says it ain’t so, it ain’t so.
“tremens” wouldn’t fit on
the label, evidently.
But naturally, they have the GALL to produce this nonsense, in effect, spitting on Rosa Parks’ grave.
Now, Volsky has slightly misinterpreted said post, although he caught the gist just fine. Giving Rancid Prius™ the chance to kind of sort of walk it back:
Oh, well that’s all better, then.
In a pig’s eye.
In this case, the pig being Priebus, who clearly knows better.
Racism isn’t ENDED. Now we’re merely fighting to end it.
WHO actually believes this swill?
