If you missed it (and even if you didn’t), make sure to catch the reruns today of leading centrist author John Avlon’s appearance on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.”
Avlon is a columnist for the New York Sun, a superb author and an analyist who is now talking about his book Independent Nation: How Centrists Can Change American Politics — a book that has enormous relevance to the fast-breaking political events unfolding today.
NOTE: TMV read and completely defaced this book several months agon, underlining it profusely, with the hopes of reviewing it here and posting the review on Amazon. But he hasn’t had time. He will try to put it on the site by Friday night at the latest with some comments about what this book and its painstakingly researched political history suggests for the U.S. political future. It’s important to note that Avlon has political experience: he was an advisor to former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and worked on Bill Clinton’s 1996 presidential campaign.
Avlon is a great speaker — so don’t miss his cable appearance.
And he is a great writer/analyst so don’t miss reading this book.
