Saturday Night Tunes – Mr Mellow

Back in the early 70’s when I needed a mellow ballad break from Jefferson Airplane, the Rolling Stones and the Beatles I often turned to the man with a voice as smooth as silk, James Taylor.

And this one with the incredible Carol King:

    Thanks Ron…

James Taylor was (and still is) great, if not genius, singer and such a pleasure to watch. Seeing him sing now with unglazed eyes makes it all the better.

A few years ago PBS American Masters ran a Program called – Troubadours: Carole King / James Taylor & The Rise of the Singer-Songwriter. It blew me away and I jumped online instantly ordered the CD / DVD package. It’s has a place of honor on my ‘at least once a year’ row.

Here’s a preview of the program:

  • Thank’s Steve, the emeded worked. Old people – me, Carol King and James Taylor are in in our 60’s now. I still like James Taylor and I’m still in love with Carol King.
