And you wonder why normal people dislike politics
At the GOP convention, where he was the keynote speaker, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie took aim at the sitting president:
It’s time to end this era of absentee leadership in the Oval Office and send real leaders to the White House.

There’s only one thing missing now. Leadership. It takes leadership that you don’t get from reading a poll.
You see, Mr. President – real leaders don’t follow polls. Real leaders change polls.
In early October, Christie had this to say about the Democratic National Convention:
When I hear that much BS, I get light-headed.
Just last week, before the debate:
You’ve been living inside 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for the last four years. If you don’t think you can change Washington from inside the White House let’s give you the plane ticket back to Chicago you’ve earned. … If he believes that, then what the hell is he doing asking for another four years?
That was August. Now it’s October and New Jersey has been hit by a major storm.
“The president has been outstanding in this and so have the folks at FEMA,” Christie said on NBC’s “Today” show.

On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Christie said “the president has been all over this, and he deserves great credit. He gave me his number at the White House and told me to call him if I needed anything and he absolutely means it, and it’s been very good working with the president and his administration.”
When there’s a federal teat to be suckled, the governor of New Jersey does an about-face so sharply he could set off his own mini-cyclone.
Both public personas are pandering ones. But which is the real Governor?
