My better half is walking around the house wearing the t-shirt you see above along with her “What Me Worry” sweatshorts (talk about a weird yet appropriate combination). She is an unabashed and very sane Obama supporter (not Obamabot in the slightest). When I asked her why she bought the t-shirt, she said:
It’s all in good fun. Win or lose, this presidential election season is just full of grade-A entertainment!
Part of me is ecstatic that she feels this way (I’m finally rubbing off on her). But I’ve felt that way because I’ve never voted for a Democrat or Republican and found their tussles entertaining and I laughed to spite them. But my wife has always followed the Big 2 with more than a passing interest. And she always told me the following:
Presidential politics is serious business!
But now my serious political wife is now finding this presidential season entertaining and humorous now? I wonder how many other Americans feel the same way about Election ’08? Are they feeling this way because they are coping with a very strange election season? And is this a worrying sign for American politics as a whole?
I’m not complex. Don’t have time for all that. And all that complex stuff bad for the stomach. Just color me simple and plain with a twist.
