Now I have seen everything.
In a time of divisiveness, partisanship and simmering racial tensions in American political discourse, imagine my surprise in seeing a network television (opinion) news presenter apologise for his poor choice of words.
Lawrence O’Donnell, you are a class above the rest my friend.
Let’s be clear, what Mr O’Donnell said was not racist, he just used an ill advised turn of phrase. With that said, Michael Steel had every right to feel hurt. Even though I, like many on this website, do not agree with his political ideology, there is no escaping that it must be difficult to be a black republican when the majority of the black community in the United States vote democrat.

Many people would have refused to acknowledge Mr Steels feelings and simply lambasted him for playing the race card, but how refreshing it is to see someone in the public eye, who generally just made a mistake swiftly take responsibility for the hurt his actions may have caused.
As we say in the UK, take a bow O’Donnell, take a bow.
Just a normal everyday bloke writing about films.
