How often do you see a review that begins like this?
It’s hard to know where — and with whom — to begin when assessing the depraved, worthless piece of filth that is “Orphan,” a high-gloss horror show about a well-meaning couple who bring home a 9-year-old girl to join their family, only to discover, way too late, that she’s a homicidal psychopath.
The quote is from Ann Hornaday’s review in the Washington Post. Interestingly, most of the comments on Hornaday’s review trashed Hornaday, rather than the film itself. I must confess I’m not interested in resolving this debate to spend $10 on a movie ticket.

I am quite sure from all the reviews/reports it is a bad movie, but I am also sure we could quickly gather a list of comments with many far worse films….

Orphan was rated roughly 4 times better than the 'best' of these pieces of dreck, just for some perspective.
Lol, is funny how all of a sudden the movie had un “unexpected turn” ya, i doubt that the midget prostitute ending i read, (because i had no intention to see the movie) had.
Warner Bros, Castle entertainment, and Appain Way must have realized they screwed up royally and saw themselves getting “hanged” from The Empire State building by children rights advocates and possibly civil rights lawyers and they were like “hehe we intended it all along, really it wasn’t a kid, it was a,a..hrmm a midget! yah, that's it a midget!…..who was also a,a, hrmm a prostitute who,who, passed as a child to get into our coutry illegally, yeah, that’s it! We were trying to give out the message to midget prostitutes from Eastern Europe to stay out of our country…..that was our intention from the start ya, really…..”
