On the heels of Australian baseball player Christopher Lane’s murder in Duncan, OK, World War II vet Delbert Belton died Thursday morning after being beaten by two teens Wednesday evening. Police have one juvenile in custody. He was charged with first degree murder and first degree robbery, KHQ reports.

Delbert Belton, 88, was reportedly sitting outside the lodge when he was attacked by the teens, ages 16 and 19. Police have not disclosed a motive for the vicious attack.

Spokane police are looking for two male suspects in the attack. They said the suspects are African Americans between 16 and 19 years old. One suspect was described as heavy set and wearing all black clothing. The other was described as being about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds. There was no description of what clothing the second suspect was wearing other than a silk do-rag.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Delbert Belton. Like Chris Lane’s murder, this was another senseless crime.
