And Elsewhere, Also. NO!! NO!! NO MAS!!!

fathers carrying their dead…

I want to say, this cannot be, cannot continue

would a mother’s cry,
a grandmother’s scream
a father’s anguished kiss goodbye…

make anyone stop shooting

or just some

or none?

So many more across the world. Innocents.

I hope that moment of silence today can be for all the children
caught in the crossfire and the purposeful aim of bullets and bombs.

I have no answers, but I also have no more questions. None. For I know…

I know, as do many many, that the killing of little ones is wrong.

So wrong it is even wrong in Hell.

  1. Humans, so evil, stupid, violent, and mulish . Also loving, kind, creative and capable of sacrifice. After 61 years on this planet I still don’t understand them. I wish I believed the virtues were winning out over the vices.

  2. I think Z, and thank you for your thought and for reading/seeing what is very hard to see/know… I think virtues are in the forefront in most. it is the 1000 few, who have power often unearned and certainly not worthy, who unleash. Im convinced it is in terms of mass horror, less than 1000 ‘thug-leaders’ worldwide. I can see from having lived long like you that it doesnt take everyone, just a righteous group who will not cede, will not give in or give up… that better can come. Not perfect. better. Let us continue as we each see fit.

  3. The killing of an innocent is murder…even if you classify it as collateral damage.

Z, i personally think that our world has always been on a path towards better humanity…civility. We are far from perfect, but we are far from being the barbarians we once were.

These are important posts Dr E. Ever present reminders of the indirect consequence of our inaction.

While there are many more instances where such massacres of the innocent are happening and have happened, and while I know you have them in mind, too, I would like to specifically mention the present slaughter going on in Syria.

Thank you for reminding us, Dr. E.
