Poke A Hole In A Meme: Presidential Dog Walker

If you’re on Facebook, you might see this photo being shared by conservatives:

This meme needs rebutting.

What it doesn’t tell you is this. There is no dedicated “dog walker.”

Dale Haney, formerly the White House horticulturist and now the Grounds Superintendent, has tended to every presidential dog since King Timahoe, Richard M. Nixon’s Irish setter. That’s right, he’s worked at the WH since 1972.

In his role, he manages a staff of about 20 National Park Service employees, including electricians, gardeners and repairmen.

Yes, the President lives in a National Park.

  1. Why do these idiots bring up … er, I mean, outright fabricate this type of stuff. Who does their marketing? 3rd graders? “Liberals have cooties!!”. Sheesh!

  2. Thanks for bringing this story to our attention Kathy.
What ever happened to good old liable suits?

    Cute picture though!

  3. Sometimes I think maybe conservatives aren’t being fully honest when they say that they want hard-working people to be able to earn a living wage. The super rich will whinge and moan about an extra couple percent on their taxes, but heaven forbid someone like this should be able to support his family.
