Home Hospice Saturday

Sometimes it’s hard to believe that two years ago Mom was walking a mile a day. That said this was the best day all week. She was eating everything we put in front of her. She was alert and responsive. Life is a sine curve for all of us but towards the end the high points become more important – perhaps not for the individual but we observers.

  1. Glad this to be a good day… your Mother must be a big Nature lover…she sure seems to be at home there…

  2. Here’s an interesting note on hospices. “Various studies have shown that cancer patients in hospice live weeks to months longer than comparable patients not in hospice care.”

  3. I love this picture of your mom and her spirit!
Keeping you all in thought, including mom and you and those who are near you both.

  4. Hi Ron, I’ve refrained from commenting on your posts lately. I’ve preferred to sit on the sideline and quietly, awkwardly, smile and remember just how much it takes… And how much it gives.

Reading your recent posts I must say that what you are doing, what you are going through, is what must be done… And what must be gone through.

It’s a blessing that your mother has someone who loves her enough to want, and is willing, to go through this phase of her life with her… Most people don’t have that luxury.

Keep up the good work… My heart gently weeps.

    So true, thanks Steve

  7. Thank you for writing about this time with your Mom. It helps me, as I am walking this same walk with my parents.
