Not Afraid Of Life — Or Making Lots of Money
Bristol Palin says in her new memwow that she lost her virginity to Levi Johnston after becoming squiffed on wine coolers on a camping trip. Many of the usual anti-Palin suspects have declared that she was raped, which under a literal reading of the Alaska rape statute she may well have been. But that is beside the point.
The point is that Bristol chose to continue to have a physical relationship with Levi, she became pregnant after a tumble in her bedroom at the Palin manse, bore a child and planned to marry Levi until the white trash genes of both families muscled aside more moderate considerations and a lengthy and very public war of words ensued between the half-term governor and would-be son-in-law in gossip mags and on television yack shows.
That might have been the end of it, but the Palins’ relentless quest for self promotion (read money making) of course trumped Sarah’s repeated insistence that her family’s privacy be respected.
Bristol went on to make money from an abstinence tour, money from a lengthy run on “Dancing With The Stars” because of rigged voting, and now is poised to make more money from the memwow. The pearls of wisdom in Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far are about what you would expect from someone who got her drivers license only four years ago and, as expected, she vents Sarah-like against everyone whom she and mommy dearest don’t like, including “that gnat” Levi and the McCain clan.
Lest there have been any doubt before, there is none now about the priorities of both mother and daughter.

If Bristol were not a Palin, she wouldn’t be a “celebrity” and no one would publish her memoir. Kids her age have barely been alive long enough to even have a “memoir”. File this under “Who cares?”…
ETA: Shaun, I personally don’t care for the words “rape” and “immaterial” together since rape is anything but immaterial. I’m assuming you were referring to statutory rape, which can be consensual whereas rape is generally never consensual. I can only assume in Bristol’s case it was consensual since she continued to have a physical relationship rather than reporting Levi to the police.

Palin obsession (by liberal Palin-haters) continues, and pays Bristol.
Hopefully Shaun can keep us up to date on Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus as well.

Some adults here properly scold (if merely by gentle hints) obscessive, deranged behavior (and improper behavior).
Interestingly enough, about the deranged and other poor behavior, we have some form of evidence (or maybe even proof) that Palin is not doing well at her fame-and-fortune attempt, and may never any longer: Every conceivable story involving Palin in any way doesn’t spark 20+ threads on this farther-left site. (That’s a relief.)
As to Shaun’s last remark, he won’t obsess about and be vicious for no reason toward Spears or Cyrus if they’re standard Hollywood libs and run as Democrats; we can be confident of that.
