Switzerland has adopted the same sanctions against Russia as the European Union, following a decision by the Federal Council in Bern on Monday. The move was unusual for the traditionally neutral country but not unexpected. Swiss President Ignazio Cassis said on Sunday that his government was considering freezing Russian assets in the country in response to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
