The news from Oklahoma isn’t good. Three teenage thugs allegedly murder an Australian baseball player.

But that is NOT what our Right Wing blogging klansmen see (highlighted in pink): (And, please note that I’ll be proving that “klansmen” is not a slur, but an accurate usage below).

So, other than the headline there’s NO racial content in the article they excerpt? The ONLY blatantly racist material lies in the EIGHTEEN words the National Review contributed to the Australian report?

Yesterday, former deputy prime minister Tim Fischer has urged Australian tourists to boycott the US in the wake of the shooting murder of the Melbourne baseball star.

Mr Fischer said he was deeply angered by the latest tragedy and said turning our backs on America would help send a stern message about the need for tighter gun control.

Mr Fischer, who led Australia’s gun control reforms alongside former prime minister John Howard in 1996, said choosing not to travel to the US would help build pressure on the US Congress to finally act.

“Tourists thinking of going to the USA should think twice,” Mr Fischer said.

“This is the bitter harvest and legacy of the policies of the NRA that even blocked background checks for people buying guns at gunshows.

“People should take this into account before going to the United States.

“I am deeply angry about this because of the callous attitude of the three teenagers (but) it’s a sign of the proliferation of guns on the ground in the USA.

“There is a gun for almost every American.”

Meanwhile, Lane’s American girlfriend today revealed her heartbreak at losing her “best friend”, and parents of the accused protested their innocence.

What? They actually give the parents of the accused a VOICE? Don’t they know the parents are BLACK? And they make a salient point about Australia’s view of America’s gun madness that the National Review doesn’t like, so, to twist this into a racial slur, THAT had to go, too.

Gee.

Let me stop a moment and ask you: if three white men did something bad, would that AUTOMATICALLY paint the entire white “race” with the brush? If three white Oklahomans had done the same thing to an Australian would the National Review bowlderize the report and scream the headline:

This is blatant racism, so intense that it has to DISTORT the article that most of the copy is stolen from  (without permission, naturally) and ignore most of its major points.

You see, the problem in the case of a sketchy news story is that it acts as a Rorschach Ink Blot Test on the reporter. Often, as in these cases, as the ink blots are interpreted, ‘facts’ come out that only exist in the fever dream of the reporter, without reference to the sketchy story. This isn’t about three teens in Oklahoma whom the haters know nothing about. No, this is about Trayvon Martin, whom the haters STILL know nothing about.

And with white privilege and anger at “uppityness” they spew their bile into this story. Let’s see what they say, shall we?

Golly. Anything else?

It comes amid claims Lane was the victim of a gang-related drive-by shooting gone wrong.

Outside the court a woman told reporters the three accused teens had a falling out with a fellow gang member.

She told Channel Nine the teens were angry when they set out and wanted her brother dead.

“I guess he has hung out with gang-affiliated people. I don’t know if he’s really claimed it or tried to be like them so that might be a reason why they’re after him,” she said.

However Chief Ford yesterday said the accused “just wanted to kill someone”.

Interesting that there actually IS another side of the story, but that the WHITE Oklahoma police chief dismisses it with they “just wanted to kill someone,” which ITSELF contains hints of that well-known and quite well-established Oklahoma racism. They aren’t human beings. They just liked to kill. For no reason.

But, oddly enough, I don’t see any Black racism here. No suggestion that murder is justified or ameliorated by the race of the accused.

Except by the National Review and crony blogs.  Here’s the Australian headline, for compare and contrast:

Two of the accused teens’ parents insist they were not involved in the killing.

“That’s my baby boy,” said the mother of the 16-year-old accused of firing the single bullet from a handgun into the back of Mr Lane.

She doesn’t believe her son was involved in the shooting, saying today he was not a member of a gang and definitely not the one who pulled the trigger.

The father of the 15-year-old accused of being in the car admitted his son had been in some previous “kid stuff” trouble with the law, but described him as a good boy who also was not part of a gang.

“I don’t think so,” the father replied when asked if his son could have been part of the murder.

If anyone deserves blame it should be them and their punk kids.

Update: Some asshole from The Atlantic figured this would be a good time to take potshots at Oklahoma’s Republican senators while not even mentioning the names of the suspects or the racial aspect to the story. Of course!

I really like Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) on a number of fronts.  He’s hard core conservative but he’s got a brain and is not an ideologue.

That simply invites the reader to dismiss anything this tool has to say.

Alas, given Jammie’s vestigial writing skills and lack of verbiage, we do not know whether the Atlantic “asshole” or Senat0r Coburn is a “tool,” but perhaps the “fool” will update with more vitriol. The worst fallacy here is that, with magic eyes, he ALREADY knows who is innocent, who is guilty and what the REAL score is. Like any Klansman.

Note the “who could look like Obama’s son” is a hilarious bit of race-baiting around the “N-word” (which is implicit throughout) which would crack up any KKK meeting. The racist angle is explicit now. There is no question about WHO Jammie is talking about, nor about WHAT aspect of their totality as human beings he considers of Prime Importance.

It comes as Duncan Police Chief Danny Ford said he had secured the confession of the 17-year-old who summoned investigators to his jail cell and claimed he and the younger boys were bored “so they decided to kill somebody”.

The epidemic of senseless black on white violence continues, this time tragically claiming a visitor from Down Under:

They will also pretend to know all the ins and outs of a case they know nothing of, the motivations of persons they do not know, and refuse to so much as entertain the possibility that making guns readily available to the alleged murderers was a contributing factor, even though Australia’s ACTUAL EXPERIENCE with gun laws shows that possibility to be all but a fact. (It WOULD be a fact after we enacted gun control and got hard data from the USA.)

The fact that the guns which DID cause the death of the player are meaningless and the color of those who wielded said guns is the ONLY salient fact tells any thinking person all they ought to know about the “coverage” of this tragedy in the blogosphere.
