Sean Hannity owes Maxine Waters an apology.
From The Hill:
Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday drew a line from comments made by Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters (Calif.) to the deadly shooting at a newspaper in Annapolis, Md.
During his daily radio show “The Sean Hannity Show,” the conservative host implied that Waters’s call for protesters to confront Trump administration staffers in public had resulted in the shooting, which left at least five dead, according to police.
“I’m not turning this into a gun debate, I know that’s where the media will be in 30 seconds from now,” Hannity said, addressing the attack.
“That’s not it. You know, as I’ve always said, I mean honestly — I’ve been saying now for days that something horrible was going to happen because of the rhetoric,” he said.
From Yahoo:
Sean Hannity took a moment during his radio show on Thursday to report about a shooting at Maryland’s Capital Gazette newspaper, which left five dead and several injured on Thursday.
The Fox News host said he had no interest in turning the matter into a gun issue, but rather singled out Rep. Maxine Waters and former President Barack Obama as those who were really at fault.
“I’ve been saying now for days something horrible will happen because of the rhetoric. Really Maxine?” said the Fox News host.
As it turns out, that shooting at that Maryland newspaper building had nothing to do with Maxine Waters.
Unless hate is a Conservative value and/or a Republican value, Conservatives and Republicans should rebuke Hannity.
It is one thing to criticize a horrid statement made by a member of Congress. It is another thing to hate that member of Congress to the point of falsely linking that person to murder.
This blogger is no fan of Maxine Waters, and he would like to see her leave Congress, the sooner the better.
Yet, her words did not cause a deranged man with an ax to grind to murder five people in a news room in Annapolis.
If Conservatives and Republicans can’t understand that Sean Hannity made an utterly false statement about Maxine Waters, then they are a sorry lot.
