I watched Mitt on Netflix this afternoon.  I recommend it highly.  It certainly changed my image of Mitt Romney.  I must admit I was guilty of type casting Mr Romney.  I saw him as just another wealthy sociopath.  After watching this documentary I will admit that I was wrong.  I disagree with nearly everything that Mitt Romney stands for but he is a decent human being.  His problem is not that he is a sociopath but simply a man who has lived in a bubble and is out of touch with most of the American people.  This is not entirely his fault.

The interactions with his family were truly inspiring, it reminded me of my family.  My impression was that neither Mitt or his family really wanted Romney to win.  They realized how it would upset their comfortable life.  There was a noticeably low key disappointment when he lost in 2012, the atmosphere was almost one of relief.

Although I don’t agree with Romney’s vision for the United States he believed it was the correct vision and that was the only reason he was willing to make the sacrifices necessary to run for President of the United States.
