Donald Trump is going to announce his “decision” tomorrow, emperor with impressive clothes that he is:
Trump to announce decision on Iran deal Tuesday
David Nakamura / Washington PostPresident Trump intends to announce his decision on the future of the Iran nuclear deal on Tuesday, days ahead of a self-imposed deadline and amid signals that he will withdraw the United States three years after the Obama administration signed the pact.
There are three reasons that he will pull out of the deal, in ascending order of importance:
- He hates Obama’s guts. The little-understood nuance of the alleged “pee pee” tape is that he allegedly had Russian hookers urinate on a bed that the Obamas had slept in. This makes perfect emotional sense, and everything that he’s done since usurping office points to the truth of this emotional motivation.
. - Senator Bibi Netanyahu (R, Tel Aviv*) will do anything to scuttle the Iranian deal, as his bizarre speech on the virtual Senate floor from Israel last week proved. Never mind that the intelligence was obsolete and that the presentation had all the credibility of Geraldo’s infamous opening of the Al Capone vault. Netanyahu is seemingly moving directly toward outright war with Iran, and scuttling the Iran deal is necessary to his foreign policy. Never mind what it might do to US credibility. The move of the US embassy to Jerusalem — which all rational actors agree is an absurd mistake in the quest for peace with the Palestinians, and, subsequently, the entire Arab world — was an astonishingly myopic gaffe, undoubtedly enabled BY Netanyahu. This would be equally welcome to the Senator from Not the United States.
. - (most importantly) it is exactly what Vladimir Putin, Trump’s clear boss, wants. Having inserted himself forcefully BACK into the Middle East — in a sort of spastic continuation of Brezhnev’s “Great Game” in the Middle East that produced the Aswan Dam and attempted to win over various Arab nations against the US influence — Putin has made an explicit alluiance with Syria, an all-but-explicit alliance with Iran (which he shares a border and a sea with), and with Putin-wanna-be dictator Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey (formerly, and technically of NATO). As the brain-dead Jerusalem move all but destroyed the US’ ability to act as a fair broker, so the abrogation of the deal (which Putin AND China are signatories to) would cripple US credibility on the world stage, and ironically, probably destroy any hope of a “deal” with North Korea, who may be evil, but are intelligent enough to understand the lack of value in signing an agreement that would be abrogated as North Korea has abrogated their prior agreements. A thief understands a thief. A liar understands a liar.
Think about that last: Russia and China will happily sell nuclear and missile technology to Iran, the Russian bear will suddenly have a huge paw in the competing oil fields of the Middle East, and the US position in the region will be severely harmed, if not crippled. Putin can’t help but want that, and, as we have seen, what Putin wants, Trump provides.
This would be a massive destabilization of the fragile stability of the region, AND a major blow to American credibility around the world.
Mr. “Nobel Peace Prize” can take the champagne off the ice and stick it back in the whine cellar [sic]. It ain’t gonna have its cork popped anytime soon.
So, in a nutshell, we’re screwed. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Courage.
[* Netanyahu decided, during Obama’s first days in office, that he could visit the USA, flog AIPAC and sympathetic US representatives at a pep rally BEFORE bothering to meet with the President of the United States of America; and later would openly work with Mitch McConnell (R, Treason) to try to scuttle the Iran deal, reminding me of a joke I made up for the occasion:
Q: Why does partisanship end at the water’s edge?
A: Because that’s where treason starts.
Netanyahu and McConnell (and other GOPs) have, seemingly decided that the quaint notion of national sovereignty is trumped (pun intended) by the selfishness of Republican and Likud party desires. That danger is baked into the desolation cake that these purblind, short-sighted idiots are attempting to serve us all. If curses actually worked, one would hope that their lives be accursed by their Greek Tragedy of evil. Netanyahu feels zero compunction about interfering in internal US politics, as though he were still the suburban Philadelphia creep he grew up as. Thus do I mock him as the Republican Senator from Tel Aviv.]
