NOTE ADDED BY HOLLY: This debate, which is about to begin, will be broadcast live on PBS.
Pundits on all sides agree that tonight’s Presidential debate between GOP Sen. John McCain and Democratic Sen. Barack Obama could be one of the most important debates in a generation given the two candidates and the multi-pronged challenges the United States now faces.
Be sure to check back here throughout the night. TMV writers will be giving you their reactions. These posts will not be coordinated or edited (unless there is a major problem). Each writer will give you his/her honest take on how they view the debate, its outcome and likely impact.
NOTE: Due to cross country travel I will only see a small part of the debate and will not be online until later on Saturday. But there will be plenty of viewpoints — and opportunity for readers to start their own discussions in comments — here throughout the night.
