Tucker seems to be selectively judgmental. He condemns Edwards for his hypocrisy, yet refused to condemn social conservatives Craig and Vitter for theirs. At the time he felt that their behavior was “no one’s business”.

Not too sure how he stays on the air- he has the lowest ratings of any cable news show. Good luck to Rachel Maddow who used to be a regular on, you guessed it, Tucker’s show!

  • MSNBC is the home of “Countdown,” which blends 50 percent news and commentary excellence with 50 percent mind-rotting celebrity news/infotainment filler.

That’s the one really bright spot on the cable network’s lineup. There’s also “Hardball,” where guests vie with nouveau-riche Republican suck-up Chris Matthews to get a word in edgewise. Then, there’s Joe Scarborough, neocon uber twit Tucker Carlson and the network’s programming major domo. All of these are riddled with the inevitable, the inescapable Pat Buchanan.

Bottom of the barrel, you’ve got endless hours of stale Life in the Big House and Catch the Child Molester Wannabe reruns of reruns of reruns of reruns left over from decades of NBC news magazine shows.

What I’m saying is, MSNBC is a cable network desperately in need of a major overhaul that gives it a definite identity, a sense of purpose and direction, plus two or three times the original programming and on-air talent it now has.

Sending Tucker Carlson on to pursue other opportunities and giving Buchanan a few months to rest his vocal chords and our ears would be good places to start.

  • Warren Buffet- good ole R, wants to be taxed more, too, so just where is it that it’s the Libs who are hypocrites. Is not it commendable that rich folk like Edwards and Buffet want to level the economic playing field?

Tucker’s biggest problem is that he evaluates most issues based on his own personal situation. If he can pay for insurance for his own children, working-class folks should not expect any help. If he doesn’t want to be forced to drive a car or SUV with increased mileage efficiency, no one else should be forced to do so. He’s basically a closet narcissist, hiding under the Libertarian label.

  • George Sorwell

    He’s playing the class-warfare card!!

    Just another desperate, hypocritical Republican.

If Tucker is a narcassist for wanting to decide what drives, ten what is Edwards who wants to dictate that others drive cars that he would never drive himself, who demands that others bus their children to inner city schools that he would never send his own children to, and who dictate who others run their business in ways that he would never do themselves.

Of course, no one ask Edwards the question of why he wants to run a government that is so incompetent tat 12 high school educated blue collar workers from rural North Carolina can do a better job of deciding how drugs are regulated.

SD – Would these “red neck rubes” do any worse than Monica Goodling , Brownie or George C. Deutsch ? You insults rural Carolineans by lumping them with Brownies.

At the FDA, the career civil servants are the ones who make the decisions. They hold the hearings, solicit the comments, and review the data. And in the end, John Edwards has made millions my convincing 12 high school graduates (who are more likely black than red neck) that all of those civil servants did not know what they were doing and the drug/device/procedure was really unsafe.

John Edwards has made his living second guessing other people. Can such a nitpicking personality really lead or will he get stuck with the idea that all decisions are too dangerous to make.

Also, it is odd that since John Edwards comes from one of the most powerful special interest in politics. How will he nationalize healthcare when he comes from a culture that believes that all healthcare providers are idiots?

SD You didn’t really answer my question about Bush cronyism, I’m sure I can dig up a few Deutsch’s in FDA. Edwards won’t appoint those twelve jurors to run his cabinet.
His competent appointees, they wouldn’t even make good jurors.

    — Robert W. Cobb, NASA’s inspector general is under investigation on charges of ignoring safety violations in the space program. An internal administration review said he routinely tipped off department officials to internal investigations and quashed a report related to the Columbia shuttle explosion to avoid embarrassing the agency. He remains on the job. Only Bush can fire him.

    — Julie MacDonald, who oversees the Fish and Wildlife Service but has no academic background in biology, overrode recommendations of agency scientists about how to protect endangered species and improperly leaked internal information to private groups, the Interior Department inspector general said.

The Bush administration is going to be gone in a year and the one party Democratic era begins. There is no need to defend the incompetence of the Bush Administration. However, if Democrats are going to argue that they are different, then they should not be carrying water for idiots like John Edwards who made his millions selling snake oil to people too stupid to get out of jury duty.

The question is who will really be running the government if the ture and what biases and pet peeves will they bring with them. Remember, Edwards is proposing to bring back forced busing for social engineering purposes. Edwards wants to license every industrial operation in the country and have the government second guess every decision made by a health care worker.

Edwards through his actions has repeatedly demonstrated his belief that civil servants are incapable of doing their functions and that every decision should be reviewed by trial lawyers.

Why will anyone in the Obama/Clinton/Edwards future want to do into biosciences or medicine or anything in the private sector. All that does is put everything the person owns at risk of being second guessed by lawyers and eventually taken from then.
