    My computer doesn’t show the cartoon, but I would like to tell Brewer off in the strongest way. I voted against Obama, will probably vote against him again (unless Newt gets the nomination), but the office and the man deserve utmost respect from every American. This pointing of fingers and talking down or at him in a disrespectful way is WAY off base.
    And no shouting from the peanut gallery; clap or don’t clap, or STFU.

    Obama has more patience that I could ever muster. The fact he even bothered to listen to whatever claptrap Brewer was spewing was an undeserved gift.

    I don’t often comment on your comments because it is hard for this thick-skulled, old man to tell when you are serious or not. However, I am going to take my chances today and interpret your reaction to Brewer’s boorish manners as one of disapproval and commend you for it — especially since I believe you are not a Democrat.

    Thank you and my apologies for shouting from the peanut gallery :)

    My kidding usually has a point, you may need to use your Lone Ranger decoder ring, but is usually there.

    Respect doesn’t rely on party lines or any other lines, it is something your mother should teach you, and it is evident that many people were not paying attention, or are themselves products of disrespectful parent(s)or others.

    @dduck:

    My bad for not having a Lone Ranger Ring and for mentioning party lines in an innocuous way.

    Well, back to my old ways.

    “it is evident that many people were not paying attention, or are themselves products of disrespectful parent(s)or others”

    Alas, I don’t own a decoder ring either, so I don’t know if the comment above was intended for me or not. In any case, I can assure you, my parents are two of the best human role models I’ve ever encountered. I don’t know how I got so lucky, but I am eternally grateful.

    Brewer apparently has major substance abuse “issues”— unrelated to the incident.

    Wait! You mean the Little Orphan Annie ring that I got from the kid in “A Christmas Story” won’t work. Dang!

  9. dduck January 27, 2012 at 8:44 am

    Yes, any model decoder ring works.

    BTW: I was referring to the yahoo that hollered at O. during last year’s SOTU, that’s why I think “audiences” should be banned. Without an audience, Newt bombs and presidents can’t get too cute.

    Seems to be a he said/she said situation. If Obama was rude he deserved rudeness in return, if not then Brewer was out of line. Since both sides are claiming to be perfect angels we’ll never know.

    This morning I learned that Obama has a higher approval rating in Texas than Rick Perry. I wonder if the same situation exists in Arizona?
