“Non-Edit”
A book by Major A. J. Straley refers to George Washington as an “Exemplar-in-Chief” because of the “indelible influence on the nature and character of the early Continental Army [Washington had], an influence that set the precedence and affected how the United States military would interact with civil authority under the new institution of a democratic republic.”
In the article below, I mistakenly referred to Trump as “exemplar-in-chief” rather than the “title” I used previously of “exampler in chief.”
Because I also initially “tagged” the article as “satire,” albeit there is very little satire in it, this story will not be “edited.”
Original Post:
Once again, the Trump White House refuses to apologize for the gross, disgraceful remarks made by one of its members.
Once again, the Trump defenders are calling the “leak” more evil and serious than the degrading comments.
Once again, the “normalizers” are claiming the media is making a mountain out of a mole hole.
The stark reality, however, is that America, a proud Mountain of a nation, is being reduced to a vile, dark, stinking mole hole – with my apologies to moles.
Talking about “holes,” not too long ago, the exemplar-in-chief called some of those hoping to come to our shores, people from “shithole countries” and, once again, the “leak” was condemned rather than the vulgar remarks. As far as an apology, forget it!
But let us be real.
If Trump were to be held accountable and asked to apologize for all the offensive remarks made by the exemplar-in-chief (or by the staff that follows his example), one can just imagine how that could open the floodgates to a never-ending stream of apologies for a myriad of much worse vulgarities and personal insults relentlessly hurled by the now insulter-in-chief and the former campaign rabble-rouser, provocateur and agitator.
The business of this administration would come to a screeching halt — perhaps a good thing — as its leader would spend virtually every hour of the day and night tapping out 140-character tweets of apology.
He would have to start with apologizing to war hero John McCain for essentially calling him a loser for being captured and tortured by the North Vietnamese and for the more recent insults.
Not far behind would be apologies to Gold Star parents, apologies to the disabled, to the free press, judges and the judicial system; apologies to the FBI, CIA, Justice Department and to his own cabinet members; to our allies and their leaders, to Mexico and Mexicans, and of course to all those “shithole countries”; to our military, our generals, our veterans and Purple heart recipients; to Muslims and Islam, the Pope, Latinos, African-Americans, the GLBT community, immigrants and refugees; to former presidents – especially Barack Obama – his political opponents and Congress in general; to our athletes – most notably our black athletes — comedians and to females: female legislators, female politicians, female entrepreneurs, female reporters, female tv personalities, his own Miss Universe contestants, all his female accusers – in short, to women.
Imagine, he would have to apologize to Stormy Daniels, to Carly Fiorina, Alicia Machado, Mika Brzezinski, Megyn Kelly, Rosie O’Donnell, Heidi Cruz, Elizabeth Warren, Arianna Huffington and another score of women.
He would even have to apologize to Hilary Clinton for calling for her imprisonment, despite years of multiple investigations, along with millions of wasted tax payers dollars, into her alleged Benghazi and e-mail “crimes.”
And that does not even begin to scratch the surface of the list of “The 459 People, Places and Things Donald Trump Has Insulted on Twitter
So, I would ask those who continue to demand apologies from this president, to please stop.
You are asking for a practical and moral impossibility.
