House Speaker Paul Ryan slammed Donald Trump’s proposed Muslim ban saying it’s not what we stand for. He said there are Muslims serving in the military who are giving their lives for America. He also referenced Muslim employees serving in the House, tirelessly.
Ryan said “I typically don’t comment on the Republican presidential race,” but felt compelled to make an exception.
“Freedom of religion is a fundamental constitutional principle. It’s a founding principle of this country,” Ryan told reporters after a closed door morning meeting at the Republican National Committee.
Ryan said, “This is not conservatism. What was proposed yesterday is not what this party stands for. And more importantly, it’s not what this country stands for.”
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said “Donald Trump is standing on the platform of hate.” Many Democrats and Republicans are coming out swinging against Trump’s proposed Muslim ban.
The Philadelphia Daily News compared Trump to Hitler on its Tuesday cover page. This man is tearing apart the Republican Party and RNC chief Reince Priebus hasn’t said a word.
Trump is hypocritical. He hates the Muslims but love their money. Doesn’t he always brag about doing business in the Middle East?
