“Hillary Clinton for President? No way!”
That sentiment is being expressed in America’s coal country, where Hillary Clinton is now as popular as David Duke at a NAACP convention.
An editorial by Investor’s Business Daily explains why:
“After vowing to kill coal jobs, Hillary Clinton is now trying to recast herself as Sissy Spacek in Coal Miner’s Daughter. But coal workers ain’t buying it, and she’s hearing their wrath while campaigning in West Virginia.
At a CNN town-hall-style forum in March, Clinton asserted: “We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.”
Coal country hasn’t forgotten the threat from the Democratic front-runner.
A laid-off coal miner earlier this week confronted Clinton over her derogatory statement during a campaign stop in West Virginia, which holds its Democratic primary May 10.
“I just want to know how you can say you’re going to put a lot of coal miners out of jobs, and then come in here and tell us how you’re going to be our friend, because those people out there don’t see you as a friend,” said Bo Copley, his voice breaking.”
America’s coal miners aren’t the only voters who don’t see Clinton as a friend. Much ink and many computer bytes have already been used to describe the ire toward Clinton felt by the families of the Benghazi victims. They have just cause to feel such ire, as explained in a 10/22/15 article published by Real Clear Politics:
“At a House Select Committee on Benghazi hearing Thursday, Rep. Jim Jordan introduced e-mails that show then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton calling the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya terrorism to family and the Egyptian prime minister.
Jordan then questioned why she told Americans the Benghazi attack was a response to an infamous YouTube clip mocking Muslims but e-mailed it was a terrorist attack to the Egyptian prime minister and family.
“You can tell the Egyptian prime minister it’s a terrorist attack, but you can’t tell your own people,” Jordan scolded Clinton.”
Hillary Clinton’s judgement is seen in other things, such as her decision to conduct classified government business using a private e-mail account coming from a private server set up in her home.
In a 05/05/16 commentary, journalist Kimberly Strassel spells out why Clinton’s decision to do so was a threat to national security:
“The bigger point is that an unemployed taxi driver in Romania, using nothing more than a desktop computer, was able to infiltrate Mr. [Sidney] Blumenthal’s account and discover that a woman privy to America’s closest-held secrets was using a home-brew server.
The Chinese are bright — even brighter than Romanian taxi drivers. They employ hackers whose only job is to infiltrate the U.S. government. Those hackers have supercomputers at their service. They have lists upon lists of relatives and friends and aides of powerful people. When they break into accounts, they don’t publicize it.
And yet we are to believe that the Chinese never found their way to clintonemail.com? That they couldn’t even keep up with a freelance hacker?”
Speaking of Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal, the former Secretary of State seems to be spinning how serious it is. A 05/06/16 New York Post editorial says the following:
Does Hillary Clinton figure she can say whatever she wants as long as it’s not exposed as a lie that same day?
On Tuesday, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked her outright: “Have you been contacted — or your representatives contacted — by the FBI to set up an interview” over her e-mail mess?
Clinton gave a flat “no.”
Two days later, news broke that the FBI has already interviewed Clinton’s closest confidant, Huma Abedin, and other top aides. And officials close to the probe say Hillary’s to be interviewed in the next few weeks — which means she’s surely been contacted.
If Clinton tells you the sun is about to rise in the East, it’s probably wise to keep one eye on the West.
When compared to the experience of other Democrat politicians, Clinton’s pales. It would be difficult to convince this writer that there aren’t Democrats who are more qualified than Clinton to be the President. So, why did they roll over and play dead instead of throwing their hats into the presidential ring?
The Democratic Party doesn’t owe Hillary Clinton a presidential nomination, and she didn’t succeed in politics because of her ideas, charm or personality. In 2008, political commentator Chris Matthews described just why Clinton made it in politics. Fox News quotes Matthews as saying, “Let’s not forget the reason she is a U.S. Senator, the reason she is a candidate for President is because her husband messed around…She didn’t get there on her merits, because everyone felt, ‘My God, this woman stood up under humiliation.’“
Lately, Hillary Clinton’s supporters have been claiming that she must be elected President because Donald Trump would be far worse than her.
That claim isn’t necessarily true.
While campaigning, presidential candidates often say that they will do things that they won’t actually do should they move into the White House.
The President of the USA isn’t an all-powerful autocrat who can dictate her/his whims to America. There are constitutional limits on what the executive branch of the U.S. government can do. Donald Trump will encounter those limitations if he wins in November.
So, pray tell, just what is Hillary Clinton offering America that would make her the best person for the job of POTUS?
