The harm that Bill and Hillary Clinton do to others is the topic of a scathing review of their behavior.
Writes the columnist, “That’s the corkscrew way things go with the Clintons, who are staying true to their reputation as the Tom and Daisy Buchanan of American politics. Their vast carelessness drags down everyone around them, but they persevere, and even thrive.”
The columnist continues to speak negatively about the Clintons: “Hillary willfully put herself above the rules – again – and a president, campaign and party are all left twisting themselves into pretzels defending her. Obama aimed to have no shadows, but the Clintons operate in shadows.”
The columnist’s conclusion? “The Clintons work hard but don’t play by the rules. Imagine them in the White House with the benefit of low expectations.”
Nobody should be surprised that such criticism of the Clintons has been published by The Washington Times, a publication that is openly right-wing.
Oh, wait . . . wrong newspaper. The above-quoted criticism of the Clintons was published by The New York Times, a publication that is openly left-wing.
Well, the NYT does feature right-wing columnists from time to time. Thus, the above-quoted chiding of the Clintons was inevitable.
Oops! Sorry. Wrong again. There is nothing right-wing about Maureen Dowd, who wrote the above-quoted column.
Anyway, people have just cause to be opposed to Hillary Clinton, as indicated by one of the NYT’s premier liberal Democrat columnists. That opposition goes beyond the seven ways that the FBI contradicted Clinton’s email claims.
As Walter Shapiro writes, “In the most important American election since maybe the Civil War, it is infuriating that Hillary Clinton has so willfully damaged her own reputation for competence and trust.”
The ridicule of Hillary Clinton isn’t due to any warped thinking on the part of those who are opposed to her. Instead, the ridicule is a understandable reaction to her shadiness. As this writer has previously stated, Clinton is Nixonesque, and plenty of Democrats know it even if they aren’t inclined to admit it.
If Clinton wins in November, then it won’t be because of any virtue on her part. Instead, it will be because voters believe that Trump would do more harm than her.
