Our guest author, Paleo-Pat of Political Byline, has looked across the silly season and found reason to sink into dismay. Today’s topic is on… shoes. Please note that Guest Voices do not necessarily reflect those of Joe Gandelman or The Moderate Voice.

Honestly, is this the best that the liberals can do?

There have been times, when I, as a Blogger, have wanted to bang my head on the desk. There are times, when I have become so frustrated at the level of stupidity being served by both sides of this political discourse, that I have seriously thought about just shutting this Blog down and disappearing into the mists of ether and finding something else to do. There are times, when I, as a Blogger, have shook my fist in righteous indignation at some of the things written by both sides of this political divide, that is called Politics.

However, this, my friends, is scraping the bottom of the proverbial barrel. It seems that the Liberal Blogging world, with it’s lack of substantive accusations against John McCain, has, in fact, began publishing stories about a topic, that normally would not even receive the light of day in a legitimate publication; His Shoes.

Answer: No, of course not. It’s a bunch of bloggers trying to stoop to the McCain campaign “Obama is Britney” level in an attempt to refute the elitism charge. Both groups should stop it.

At least they weren’t Bruno Maglis.

  • GeorgeSorwell

You know we’ve spent nearly eight years living through the best conservatives could do.

And now even they want to throw the guy they all voted for under the bus.

“Is this the best liberals can do?

Better question; is this the worst you could find.?
If so, you haven’t been browsing blogs very dilligently.Try some on the Right, for a change of menu..

Naw, that’s not the best they can do. That’s one blogger on a site of many, that is half devoted to gossip mongering. It’s a little silly, of course but it does at least say something about the recycled “Obama is an elitist” meme the McCain camp has been peddling. But no, it’s certainly not the best liberal bloggers can do, and why most of the blogosphere has basically ignored it or at most, put it in the context of IOKIYAR (it’s OK if you’re a Republican).

The recent “best” or at least typical post, would be more along the lines of John Cole’s fact-check post – http://www.balloon-juice.com/?p=10935

Or Josh Marshall’s pondering of the consequences of Sen McCain’s current path to his long term reputation – http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/206512.php

Or, sticking with HuffPo, David Donnelly’s examination of the oil money suddenly flowing to McCain – http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-donnelly/mccains-oil-money-gusher_b_116094.html

So no, “shoes” is not the best. In fact, it’s at about the same level as McCain’s campaign ads these days (remember, he is an actual candidate, not just some HuffPo blogger).

Yes, proof positive that a liberal blogger can be every bit as petty and dumb as conservative bloggers.

    Who knew?

  • DLS

It’s barrel scraping and no surprise, either.

Not that McCain isn’t bad. He’s bad. He now says that his negative ads against Obama are “because [McCain] puts his country first.”

Just to bait the most childish out there, McCain should show him with Americana scenes in the next ad, to the tune of “America” — sung by Ray Charles.
