Does Change In Washington Mean “What People In DC Carry In Their Pockets”? Ah, yes, a new Congress and change. But wait! Just look who’s in charge there and at the RNC (but some change could be afoot THERE).
A Really Bad Omen: Yes, we do consider it a harbinger. GOP leaders in Congress were supposed to meet with President Barack Obama and they delayed it by weeks.
But Voters Didn’t Expect Much from it a New Poll Says: Quinnipiac:
Three out of four American voters think the White House meeting Thursday between congressional leaders and President Barack Obama is unlikely to produce meaningful results, as they turn thumbs down on everyone involved, the president, congressional Republicans and congressional Democrats, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today.
American voters disapprove 49 – 44 percent of the job President Obama is doing, statistically unchanged from his 47 – 44 percent disapproval, his lowest grade, in a September 9 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University, conducted by live interviewers.
But voters disapprove 63 – 27 percent of the job Republicans in Congress are doing and disapprove 66 – 27 percent of the job Democrats are doing.
Its sounds like “a pox on both your houses.” (WARNING: Don’t say that phrase at an airport or TSA will think you might be talking about terrorism, pat you down — and touch your “junk”..)
On the Other Hand (and I DO MEAN “Hand”) a poll shows that four in five Americans support body scans. The BEST COMMENT about TSA scans comes from Andy Borowitz:“Last night during sex my wife cried out the name of a TSA employee.”
And Guess Who Makes the Scanners? Ex-DHS chief Michael Chertoff’s consulting client. (Oh….Ah! It’s just a coincidence, to be sure..)
Homophobia? Yew Betcha! Sarah Palin’s daughter Willow gets mad ad someone on Facebook so she let’s loose with some anti-gay words that (presumably) her Mama would not like her to say. But some insist this is no big deal.
But All Is Politics and Ideological Trench Warefare These Days: Not politicizing something is oh, so 20th century. For instance, there are now allegations that Tea Party members are voting en mass to make sure their beloved Sarah Palin’s daughter wins Dancing With The Stars. How could they do it? Here’s one explanation. A valid story? Or is it just plain dumb?
A Protest Over A Mosque In Arizona: OOPS! (It turns out we should have looked before protesting since it’s a church. Never mind..)
Add One to the Republican Majority: The Republicans pick up another seat in a close election — this one in Illinois.
Mitt Romney May Be a 2012 Frontrunner but he has a big, fat problem with tea party movement members…
If You Ever Wondered About Fox News whether its demonization of Barack Obama (discussing whether he was born in the U.S., his Kenyan roots, whether he’s a Socialist, the off the wall comments of Glenn Beck) are frowned upon by Fox News maven Roger Aisles, think no longer: it turns out that is Aisles world view. (Like they say, it starts at the top…)

Is Joe Miller About to Lose In Alaska: Yes, it does seem like he’ll finally have time to find a place to buy a razor.
A Lot of Hot Air Is Rising: We KNOW that some of it is coming from talk show hosts…some of it coming from Congress (it is back in session) but Susan Brown also contends some of it is coming from the EPA.
Major PEACE TALKS MAY BE UNDERWAY between the White House and the Chamber of Commerce.
