Admittedly this district is of interest to me because it’s local but I have a feeling it could get some national attention.
Right now incumbent Jerry McNerney (D) trails challenger David Harmer (R) by 23 votes. There is part of one county to report and assuming the rest of the county votes more or less the same as the rest of the county did it would gain McNerney about 200 votes.
So that would give him a 175 vote lead, though with absentees still to count it could grow or shrink. But 175 votes would be around one tenth of one percent of the vote.
In either case it is very likely this race will go to a recount.
And I’m sure both parties will want to fight over every seat, and this one is gonna be real close.
Several other House seats will also feature recounts, in Virginia and Minnesota for example.
