Back in 2003 when I was still a card carrying member of the Republican Party, I swear that I felt like the only person in the GOP who opposed the Iraq war. But I kept right on protesting and speaking out against it, and finally my efforts have paid off. I see that today the entire House Republican membership is going to vote against further funding for the war. It’s good to know that I wield such influence, even if it’s a bit late in coming.
But there’s more work to be done, citizens! The evil, war-mongering Obama administration and Congressional Democrats are determined to carry on with their vision of global conquest and only we can stop them. That’s why today, at 3:30 pm Eastern time, during the second half of The Ed Morrissey Show, I’ll be joining Ed for a call in segment where we will connect viewers with their Congressional representatives and let them know that we most certainly do NOT support the troops and we will NOT tolerate additional funding of this war. We take these actions even knowing that Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.) called this “an immoral thing to do” back in 2005. Sometimes principle must reign over party affiliation.
Oh, and I think Ed also wants to object to some taxpayer funding for something called the I.M.F. which I believe stands for Interspecies Monkey Foundation. I think they object to teaching creationism in schools or support gay marriage between people and chimps. Or something.
