Cyberspies Target Power Grid

In another of those ‘Oh great’ stories we now learn (again) that cyberspies have been targeting the US electrical grid with a possible eye to staging a new 9/11 attack, this time by shutting us down at the power plug.

While they have not yet launched a major attack, experts suggest that if they did attack they could sabatoge power systems in a way that could keep the power shut down for weeks or months.

Such a scenario is not tough to imagine if you assume the terrorists used the sabatoge to overload generators and other power distribution systems. This could take months or more to repair.

Fox says the big bad bear is going after our power grids, but doesn't give much detail. Please show where anyone has ever hacked into a SCADA system that didn't have an unsecured Internet connection without proper subnetting.
