Merry Christmas to everyone! I am about ready to head to my parents for the annual feeding frenzy and gift exchange, but before I venture out in the heatwave (50 degrees in Baltimore), I wanted to share one Christmas wish with our readers.
Faith and religion, are two of the most segregated items in our society. I can not count the number of denominations that exist within Christianity alone; much less attempt to list the non-Christian religions throughout the world. This day, above all others, allows us the opportunity to come together as part of the human family. Today, for the first time, Christians in Iraq have a modicum of religious toleration. I believe the God in Heaven is pleased with his children in their ability to learn from their past mistakes and move beyond the arrogance of faith.
If Muslims and Christians can tolerate each other in a war-torn country… perhaps Peace on Earth is not such a delusion after all.
Blessings to all of you on this most joyous of days.
