As we witness the dying embers of George W. Bush’s presidency, the American people’s anger at their country’s top executive is no less than that of the Iraqi journalist who hurled shoes and abuses at the US president.
A recent PEW poll reveals how Americans describe Bush by different names — some of them a lot worse than “dog.”
The Washington Post reports: “For his part, Bush has repeatedly claimed to be unbothered by his low popularity, and has pointed to his willingness to endure opposition as a strength.
” ‘The thing that’s important for me is to get home and look in the mirror and say, ‘I did not compromise my principles,’ Bush said in one recent interview. ‘And I didn’t’.” More here…
Actually, Bush has comported himself well in the face of a slew of scandalous calumnies and lies tossed at him by the MSM. I think he should have fought back, but he really didn't have the verbal skills to articulate his positions such as Clinton, who was probably a bigger and worse fraud than GWB, possessed to defend his policies and yak his way out of his unpopularity. Of course, the MSM has lost any sense of journalistic ethics and is now an adjunct of the DNC, so GWB never had a chance to air his views even if he were an Obama/BillyJeff. Back in Reagan's day, the MSM still had an ethos of fairness and evenhandedness.
Funny thing: GWB was born on July 6,1946, same day/same year as Rambo/Rocky hero Sylvester Stallone, whose eloquent skills at expressing his articulate view on life are legendary—-NOT!!
Another argument for astrology!
W was supposed to be the antidote for Clinton, remember? He promised to restore the dignity of the office– and failed miserably. At least Clinton left the country better off than when he took office. Read “Shrub”and “Bushwacked” by Molly Ivins to get the scoop on what happened to Texas and then the US under Bushco. He is a shill for corporate/evangelical/big donor interests.
He has admitted to having some regrets, and I don't believe for a minute that having an 11% approval rating is not getting to him. It is- but he's not about to acknowledge it. There are rumors that he is now on anti-depressants.
Molly Ivins didn't know squat, she was just another hack writer and I'm glad she's worm-food. She did not have the scoop on anything.
The polls are fake anyway. It is just more blather for the narrative.
GWB? The man IS and WAS an idiot. Anyone who hasn't processed that by now is seriously (and sadly) clue deficient. As for Molly Ivins, she did her best to warn this country about W long before he was elected president (as did many of us). Unfortunately for the US, some folks prefer keeping their heads planted in the sand to admitting they've been wrong.
Killadelphia– What're ya smokin'?:-)
