President Barack Obama has been under a lot of criticism from both sides of the political aisle for the disastrous roll out of the “Obamacare” website and the fact that some Americans are finding themselves losing their existing “junk insurance” health care plans despite assurances from him that they could keep their doctors and insurance plans. So now, in an interview on NBC News, he is apologizing (“I’m sorry…”) for the glitches:
President Barack Obama apologized for Americans who have been affected by complications of the health care rollout.
“I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me,” Obama told NBC News in an interview airing Thursday.
It is the first time the president has personally apologized for the glitches. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius apologized in October for the “miserably frustrating experience.”
Only yesterday Obama met with 16 Democratic Senators who warned that he faced a “crisis of confidence” if he didn’t move quickly to fix the glitches and reassure voters.
