It looks like the Libertarian Party’s Presidential candidate is possibly going to be a real factor in November: he’s New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson, who has broad appeal in certain parts of the country and certain segments of the electorate.
I see him as more likely to act as a spoiler for Mitt Romney than anything else. Since I am broadly sympathetic to him on many of the issues, but also strongly opposed to him on some others (which is exactly how I feel about both Obama and Romney) I can only look on his campaign with curiosity. No I probably won’t vote for him even though it’s extremely tempting. On some issues I feel very strongly about, I’m 100% with him. On some, I’m not with him at all. [sigh] That’s politics for you.
