Historical Polling Trends and Barack Obama

Historical polling trends suggest that President Barack Obama is in trouble. No wonder Mitt Romney is already offering donors access to an an “inaugural retreat” — and predictions increase that this will be one nasty, negative campaign.

  1. I’m seriously wondering if, for the good of my health, I ought to tune out altogether.

Is there anyone else who can’t stand to hear people saying things that are not only false and/or deliberately misleading, but delivered with the exact combination of chutzpah and smarmy condescension required to simultaneously woo the clueless and and make everyone else’s blood boil? (viz: The “Obama’s war-on-women” theme)

You probably should tune out; I have. I haven’t even read any threads on the phony war or Trayvon Martin in quite some time.

Opinions are a wonderful insight into people’s agenda, but as R. W. Emerson said

“The people are to be taken in small doses.”

  3. Tuning out is a brilliant idea. I know where my vote is going. And that isn’t going to change.

So why listen to all the clatter and chaos and get angry when I hear the lies?

I’ve been wanting more time for my journey of reading a book about each president anyway.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

  4. Hi, my name is Mitt Romney. If elected I promise to royally screw 99% of you, enact the same policies that drove this nation into near ruin under George Bush, make a butt load of money for alot of hard working fellow “job creators, and probably start a war with someone who is really no direct threat to us. Despite the historical weakness of my positions, carrying out these ideas which have been done before with horrifying results, my pollsters tell me that a large number of you are dumb enough to think its still a good idea. I know, I almost didn’t believe it myself but here we are. So, you know, vote Romney! It’ll be just like old times!
