A powerful quake measuring around 7.6 on the Richter scale has struck Mexico near the tourist (or former tourist) destination of Acapulco.

So far there are no reports of serious damages, deaths or injuries but that is likely to change somewhat. However most quake prone cities are built to resist shocks and as a result I expect minimal injuries.

Sadly the drug lords have done more damage to the city than the quake.
