After his vice-president’s callous use of that little word “So?”, when asked about Americans’ opposition to the Iraq war, and after his own arrogant “So what?”, when asked about the fact that al Qaeda was not in Iraq before the invasion of that country, you would think that Bush will be more careful in the future with the words he chooses.
I would advise him to stay away from all expressions starting with the word “so.”
For example (and in addition to “So?” and “So what?”), never say:
* So there!
* So, sue me!
* So, take this!
* So, who cares?
* So, who’s counting?
* So? I am the decider
* So what if I did that!
* So what if I said that!
* So, what does the Constitution have to do with any of this?.
He should also keep the following thought to himself: “So much history to re-write, so much legacy to fabricate, so little time.”
There may be one exception to starting an expression with the word “so”: The long-awaited “So long!” on January 20.
