Having trouble making up your mind about Ferguson? [icopyright one button toolbar]
Julie Bosman, who reported for the Times from Ferguson during the protests, opens a report on the Ferguson shooting with this:
Just after noon on Saturday, Aug. 9, Michael Brown was shot dead by a police officer on Canfield Drive.
For about four hours, in the unrelenting summer sun, his body remained where he fell.
Neighbors were horrified by the gruesome scene: Mr. Brown, 18, face down in the middle of the street, blood streaming from his head. They ushered their children into rooms that faced away from Canfield Drive. They called friends and local news stations to tell them what had happened. They posted on Twitter and Facebook and recorded shaky cellphone videos that would soon make their way to the national news.
Mr. Brown probably could not have been revived ...NYT
That’s “probably.” And yes, four hours.

I dunno. Maybe conservative writer Dinesh D’Souza is even more gruesome. Daily Beast’s Oliva Nuzzi has this charming account:
Dinesh D’Souza has a book to sell.
It was certainly with that in mind that in an interview with the conservative Newsmax TV, D’Souza offered his opinion on the unrest in Ferguson, following the killing by police of an unarmed, black teenager. D’Souza’s smart take? Protesters in Ferguson are like ISIS in Iraq.
No, really.
D’Souza shouted at his webcam: “The common thread between ISIS and what’s going on in Ferguson is you have these people who basically believe that to correct perceived injustice, it’s perfectly okay to inflict all types of new injustices. Behead guys who had nothing to do with it. Go and loot shops from business owners who were not part of the original problem whatsoever. And all of this is then licensed by the left and licensed, to some degree, by the media.”
Beheading, looting — basically the same thing. Just ask anyone who has been both beheaded and looted. You may not get a response, but go ahead and ask. ...DailyBeast
D’Souza, BTW, thinks those Washington blacks are going to step in and make things worse for Darren Wilson (white). He’s referring to the President, the Attorney General, and Al Sharpton. Black vs. white. D’Souza is brown. I’m sort of a greyish pink. What are you?
