Want to See A Drama? Just watch some of the reaction to Keith Olbermann’s exit which reports suggest now was not a matter of MSNBC kicking him out the door but partially his own decision. On the other hand, some do argue that despite what might be officially suggested (deniability?) the Comcast merger did indeed play a role — and there are some serious implications for the Internet as well. Olbermann has become almost as much of an icon on the left as Rush Limbaugh is on the right but some say “good riddance.” (I have long contended that liberal talkers made a fundamental mistake by trying to become the anti-Limbaugh and trying to adopt the Limbaugh ideological show formula or tone. They let conservative talk, in essence, create the framework.) Meanwhile, Ed Morrisey has an excellent analysis here — wondering if Olbermann became a victim of his own success.
