This is where I grew up. Carpinteria, California. We called it Carpas Califas, just south of Santa Bruto (Santa Barbara). Three miles inland in the Tri-Valley is part of the bread basket. The next time you have a radish or a lemon, recall who is bringing it to market. I have done this kind of work. Lemon picking is the hardest thing I have ever done. The faster you do it the more you money you make and the more scars you wear. I worked off the back of a garbage truck when we lifted every can by hand. This type work makes that seem like a vacation. I have never ever seen a greater work ethic than these men and women.
I love it.
Los Amos.
Oh, hell yeah.
Next time you enjoy radishes in your salad, remember the farmworkers like these Oxnard workers, who harvest the food that we eat. #WeFeedYou #Calor #Ovetime4FarmWorkers / La próxima vez que disfrute de los rábanos en su ensalada, recuerde a los trabajadores agrícolas como estos trabajadores de Oxnard, que cosechan los alimentos que comemos. #WeFeedYou #Calor #Ovetime4FarmWorkers
