Today’s literary quote of the day is from Ken Kesey‘s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest:
“Hell of a life. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. Puts a man in one confounded bind, I’d say.”

P.S.
I apologize for not being able to post the literary quote of the day for a couple of days in a row. The reason: exams.
I hope your exams went well!
Not bad thus far.
Monday last one.
Unless if I don’t pass some, then I have to do the resits early feb.
Thanks of course!

Gray, I love that last quote.
First and foremost get your study on, MvdG. We can handle a couple days a week w/o the quotes, once exams wind down we know we’ll get our daily quote, family.
Thanks Chuck, you’re right of course; Joe told me the same thing. However, you know, one gets firstly addicted to blogging and one feels guilty when one isn’t able to post as much as one believes one ‘should’ do. Those routines are daily routines for a reason…
Anyway, you are right… but I will be able to post them… if not every day from now on than at least the far majority of days.
“Family”? What does that mean in this sentence if I may ask? Perhaps a stupid question, but I’m wondering.
Bukowski is in the Kesey and Thompson camp. For the truly deranged look to PK Dick, strange and interesting SciFi.
I read somewhere that 77 percent of the mentally ill live in poverty. Actually, I’m more intrigued by the 23 percent who are apparently doing quite well for themselves.
Jerry Garcia
“Insanity – to have to construct a picture of one’s life, by making inquiries of others.”
Philip K. Dick, “Martian Time Slip” (1964)
More from Cuckoo’s Nest:
C’est la vie.
lol steve… don’t quote it too much.. I’ve got another one coming up from the same book….
I know, I shouldn’t do that but this book is filled with good quotes.
