If you’re not an active social media user, you may not know that Donald Trump had a difficult time staying awake in the Oval Office on Thursday. That’s because national media have, in the main, ignored it.
It’s unfair that Trump gets to sleep through his presidency and the rest of us have to be awake for it

At a press conference announcing a price drop in weight loss drugs for Medicare and Medicaid recipients, the President fought sleep for at least 20 minutes, according to the Washington Post on Saturday.
The irony of Trump having labeled Joe Biden “Sleepy Joe” should be obvious to everyone. Neera Tanden, a member of the Biden Administration remarked on Twitter:
I’m sorry but the national media would have had multiple strokes if Joe Biden was sleeping/passed out in his chair in the Oval Office.
A University of Illinois professor reminded readers that Trump couldn’t stay awake at his trial, as well.

CNN wrote on Saturday that Trump “appear[ed] to close his eyes.” That’s weasel writing. He did close his eyes.
The Post reviewed several video feeds — not just stills — and also weaseled its description as “apparently battling to keep his eyes open.” However, the article features four photos with his eyes closed and one where he is literally holding an eye closed with his fingers, perhaps attempting to open it manually.
